Peggy O'Sheel was born in New York City, USA and her childhood was spent moving between Europe, America and Africa, finally settling in London in 1967.

She is self-taught and works mainly in watercolour, usually painting on a small scale with the subject often dictating the style of the painting. Animals feature frequently and much of her recent work has been illustrations and hand assembled greeting cards.
